Liana Gabriela Rotariu
Accounting and financial management expert, she is the founder and CEO of SEMPI Srl. Included in the prestigious Gamma Donna FAB50 and mentor of StrongHer by Qonto, Liana was born in Cluj-Napoca, in the beautiful region of Transylvania, but has been living in Italy since 2003, specifically in Turin.
In recent years, she has gained various experiences abroad, working as a CFO for multinational companies in Ireland, Germany, and Malta. Her experience in Turin continues her Romanian background, working for IVECO. A cheerful person who loves fun work, Liana has passions that range from skating to horses and enjoys good music, both classical and rock.
Her academic training began in Romania at Babes-Bolyai University in Cluj, where she earned a Master's Degree in Transport Management. She continued her studies in Turin, obtaining a Master in Business Administration from SAA. In 2009, along with 190 other businesswomen, her story appeared in the book "Women of Business" written by Elena Giffoni..
The curiosity and desire to always learn new things have led her to become self-taught in various fields, contributing to her open-mindedness. In 2020, she conceived and implemented the Sempi Method, registered in 2023, a method that simplifies business management using the balanced scorecard and lean six sigma, allowing entrepreneurs to have real-time data..
Liana speaks fluently Romanian, Italian, English, French, and a little bit of Piedmontese.

My CMC certification: a guarantee of excellence
Being CMC (Certified Management Consultant) certified means providing my clients with the assurance of working with a highly qualified management consultant, with an international perspective and a constant commitment to excellence..
This certification, issued in Italy by APCO and recognized in over 50 countries through the International Council of Management Consulting Institutes (ICMCI), certifies global-level competencies combined with a deep understanding of the specificities of the Italian market..
With the CMC qualification, I offer an ethical and innovative approach, always updated on the best practices to guide businesses and professionals towards success.
Focus and simplicity: leadership is (also) a matter of kindness
Rejecting stereotypes and advocating for a more inclusive and equitable workplace also means questioning the most widespread and common interpretations of the social and managerial paradigms that define it..
For example: does a "female" leadership really exist?
The question goes beyond the (positive or negative) connotation with which we are used to narrating the roles of women in leadership and thus becomes a statement: before being a man or a woman, a leader is an individual with unique characteristics that primarily concern competence, commitment, dedication, and attitude.
Talking about leadership, therefore, should be able to transcend the boundaries of gender. Yet, despite women representing 41% of the members of the boards of publicly traded companies in Italy, only 2% are CEOs and only 4% are chairpersons (ANSA 2021).
To overcome the stereotypes of storytelling, it is therefore necessary to ensure that women have the same opportunities to develop and achieve leadership skills, not only through training and education initiatives (such asStrongHer by Qonto) but also through, and above all, awareness.
We talked about this, and more, with Liana Gabriela Rotariu - Chartered Accountant and founder and CEO of SEMPI SRL, a virtual CFO and automated accounting solution - who shared with us her story as an entrepreneur, woman, and foreigner in Italy, and the path that led her to establish her own business.
A professional journey but also a personal one, focused on self-construction, self-awareness, and one's role as a manager.
